Add, Edit, and Delete Segments

This section explains how to create, edit, and manage contact segments in Qpien by setting specific conditions or filters.

Clicking the profile avatar in the main menu opens the Contacts page.

On this page, both the contacts you have created and those automatically generated by the system when someone messages you through any channel are listed. By default, all contacts are displayed in this list.

You can create different lists by separating contacts based on specific criteria. This helps you stay organized and makes it much easier to find the contact you are looking for.

Add Segment

On the Contacts page, click the “+” button to create a new segment.

By adding one or more conditions to the segment you create, you can have contacts that meet these criteria automatically listed.

This allows you to organize your contacts more efficiently and quickly access the list you need.

In the panel that opens when you click the “+” button, you can configure the settings for your segment.

As the first step, give your segment a name that is easy to distinguish.

After naming your segment, you need to define the conditions that determine which contacts will be included in the list.

At this stage, you can choose one of two options:

  • Must match all conditions: Contacts must meet all the conditions you set to be included in the segment.

  • Must match at least one condition: Contacts only need to meet at least one of the conditions you set to be included in the segment.

Click the “Add a filter” button to set one or more conditions for your segment.

Based on the conditions you select, the system will filter all contacts and automatically add the resulting matches to your new segment.

In our previous article about tags, we explained how tags are created, edited, and deleted.

For example, when adding a segment condition and selecting the “Tags” option, the tags you have previously created will be listed. You can choose the tag you want to add as a condition for your segment.

Here’s an important point to note:

The selected tag is evaluated based on whether it is assigned to the contact, not whether it is applied to a conversation. In other words, the system checks if the contact has the tag, not if the tag was added to any of their chats.

As mentioned in the tag article, tags can be added to both conversations and contacts. However, tags used in segment conditions are contact tags.

After defining the condition, click the Create button at the bottom of the page to complete your segment.

Editing Segment

For example, when you create a segment named “Regular Customers”, you can click on it to access the list of contacts within the segment.

If you have selected only the “Regular Customer” tag as a condition, the contacts listed here will include only those who have this tag.

To make changes to the segment, click the pencil icon indicated by the arrow.

From the panel that opens, you can:

  • Add new conditions or remove existing ones,

  • Change the segment’s name.

This allows you to keep your segments up-to-date according to your needs.

Delete Segment

To delete a segment, open the edit panel and click the trash bin icon indicated by the arrow.

In the panel that opens, enter the required text and then click the “Delete” button.
